Jack Hyphen EP launch party at Sacred Trinity Church

After a four year musical hiatus, Manchester indie powerhouse Jack Hyphen launched his long-awaited EP Stops/Changes last Friday to a sold out Sacred Trinity Church.

On the same night folk and blues Co-Headliner James Stephen launched his brand new acoustic rock single 'Just Like That'.

Support came from an array of talented singer songwriters, all with complimenting different styles. First up was Moy Cohen, a 19 year old Mexico born soulful singer armed with his acoustic guitar and melancholy lyrics. His music is heartfelt and speaks of changes in his personal life.

Next up we had ForDaze, a regular on the Manchester open mic circuit, also performing shows everywhere from York to Amsterdam; Mike was finally ready to perform his first solo gig. Fordaze, a moniker derived from the US sitcom New Girl, was littered with synths, samples, autotune and experimentation across the board - the basis of a genre that Mike simply refers to as “Craft Pop”.

At 10pm Jack finally took to the stage to a very energetic sold out crowd in the atmospheric church venue. After waiting four years for Jack to quit his 9-5 and take his music career to the next level, he finally took the plunge this July.

Jack opened the highly anticipated set with Flee, into Already Lost, Not Medicinal and I Wanna Know before lovingly dedicating Sunrise Will See Me Through to his mum, who was devotedly right at the front of the crowd!

“The night well exceeded expectations. What makes it even better is that it was organised completely independently and it sold out! This gig has set great foundations of what is to come from all of us.”

- Jack Hyphen

Next up we were thrown straight into the opening EP track Fickle, and followed the track listing with Safe For A Second, my personal favourite V and closing with fan favourite and all round ear-worm you'll be hearing all week We Are Not Made For This.

The crowd lapped up every second, even taking part in some audience participation at the close, shouting Jack's closing chorus back across the room to each other with vigour.

Be sure to follow Jack Hyphen everywhere you can, there are videos, exclusive info and performances on Facebook and Insta - Jack Hyphen Music. There's great things coming from him in 2020, including brand new singles.
